Si Dios existiera // If God existed

Me habría gustado creer en Dios, pero me lo ha puesto difícil.

Si Dios existiera, no entiendo por qué hace falta tanto esfuerzo para creer en él, y es más, por qué para él supone alguna satisfacción o recompensa que unos seres tan insignificantes como nosotros creamos o no. Si quiere que creamos en él, ¿por qué no nos ha hecho a todos creyentes por naturaleza? O mejor aún, ¿por qué no se manifiesta de una vez, por todo lo alto, en plan justicia universal, arrasando a los malvados y convirtiendo el mundo en un sitio habitable en lugar del vertedero que es? ¿Por qué un dios omnisciente, omnipresente y omnipotente iba a necesitar de unos pobres bípedos para sentirse mejor?

Estas preguntas no las hago para que me las respondan, ya se han hecho antes, y se han contestado mal antes. Un teólogo podrá responderlas con sus circunvalaciones dialécticas y su supuesto conocimiento del pensamiento divino.
Pero no, no es lógico. Un teólogo es un hombre cualquiera, un señor como yo (como usted también), y no tiene comunicación directa con Dios. Y si dice lo contrario, miente. Es imposible que él conozca lo que piensa Dios mejor que yo (y que usted), así que ¿por qué creerle?

Si Dios existiera no dejaría que nos matáramos en su nombre, eso seguro. Y si Dios existe y deja que hagamos tantas atrocidades para favorecerle, mejor no creer en él.

Nada de esto es nuevo. Es aburrido. Dejemos de hablar de Dios y arreglemos el mundo.

I would like to believe in God, but it's hard to do.

If God existed, I cannot understand why we should do such a big effort to believe in him, what is more, why should be some kind of satisfaction or reward that we, insignificant beings in the universe, believe in him or not. Why didn't he make us naturally believers? Or even better, why doesn't he shows himself finally, in style, as the bearer of divine justice, razing with the evils and turning the world into an inhabitable place instead of the garbage dump it is now? Why an omnipotent, omniscient and omnipresent god would need a bunch of poor bipeds to feel good?

I don't make these questions to be answered. They have been posed before, and they have been answered in the wrong way before. A theologist could probably answer with dialectic schemes and an assumed knowing of the divine thoughts.
But it is not logic at all. A theologist is a man like other, a man like me (like you too), and he doesn't have direct line with God. If he says the opposite, he's lying. It is impossible that he knows waht God thinks better than me (and you). So, why should be trust him?

If God existed, he didn't let us to kill ourselves on behalf of him, that for sure. On the other side, if God exists and lets us doing all the outrages and atrocitys we do, it would be better not to believe in him.

Nothing of what I've written is new. It's boring. Let's stop talking about God and let's repair the world.
